We respect the tradition our ancestors have bestowed upon us. From harvesting the worms, which is only done once a year during the rainy season, to searching in each maguey plant for the best quality worms, to later toast them to perfection and mix them with our salt and chili peppers.


Metchi is the abbreviation for “metchikuil,” the authentic name for the red maguey worm in the indigenous Zapotec language.

Our salt mix is smokey and spicey, with pleasant, earthy undertones.

Metchi balances and enhances the taste of mezcal and is perfect to sa lt a wide variety of cocktails. It’s also a delicious seasoning for Mexican and other international dishes.

Ingredients: Salt, chile de árbol (tree chili pepper), paprika and maguey worms. We use 100% natural ingredients without additives or preservatives.



CHAMOYADA: rim an Old Fashioned glass with METCHIPremium Artisanal Worm Salt and it looks nice and frosty. Pour a splash of Chamoy sauce into the glass. Blend mango juice and lemon juice with ice. Pour it into the glass and add some fresh cut mango slices. Sprinkle a pinch of Metchi Premium Artisanal Worm Salt over the liquid.

BLOODY MARY: Frost the rim of a highball glass with Metchi Premium Artisanal Worm Salt. Add ice cubes, RECUERDO Mezcal Joven, lemon juice, tomato juice and CLAMATO. Pour the liquid mix into the glass without touching the rim frost. Add an celery stick and sprinkle a pinch of Metchi Premium Artisanal Worm Salt over the cocktail.

  • * 1 ½ oz RECUERDO mezcal joven
  • * ½ oz lemon juice
  • * 2 oz tomato juice

  • * Celery stick
MARGARITA: Mix ingredients (except salts) with ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour mix into a martini glass rimmed half with regular salt and half with Metchi. Premium Artisanal Worm Salt. Garnish with a twist of lemon dipped into Metchi. Premium Artisanal Worm Salt.
